Getting pregnant is hard. Pregnancy is hard. Postpartum is hard. Even if it goes perfectly, which it never does, it's hard on you both physically and mentally.I've got two girls and had two very different pregnancies with two very different sets of needs before, during, and postpartum. To meet these needs, I (like so many others) had to personally seek out help beyond my primary medical team, because there were no tools or services in place to help moms navigate the complexities of finding qualified experts with perinatal experience. It was a pleasure listening to Meghan Doyle from Partum Health last Friday share how they are working to change this experience for the better, including partnering with Family Connects International to build a more integrated, comprehensive, evidence-based care experience both virtually, in-home, and on-site beyond the OB or hospital setting. Every mom/mom-to-be should have access to the care and support she needs during this journey, regardless of location or income status, as it's proven to improve positive outcomes. Here's to a more supported, joyful journey for all!

That is fantastic! The entire "support" system needs to be overhauled, starting with in hospital care, support and awareness. Too many hospitals and agencies just check the box and then once you leave the hospital you are on your own. My wife dealt with three very different sets of post-partum experiences, all manifesting itself in depression in various forms and levels of severity. My sister in law suffered and succomed to post-partum depression. And I came to find out years later that I likely suffered from some sort of post-partum depression after our first pregnancy (twins). Suffice it to say that I've endured some experience with this process and the deficiencies of the support structure. I love when people are openly talking about it and moving it from taboo to mainstream, letting others know that they are not alone. Thanks for sharing Brianna Matz anyone that is transforming this much needed critical care.

Maternal health awareness ,Maternal health awareness initiatives typically aim to highlight the importance of ensuring the well-being of pregnant women and new mothers. They often focus on issues such as access to quality prenatal care, safe childbirth, postnatal care, and overall maternal well-being. The goal is to raise awareness about the challenges women face during pregnancy and childbirth, promote healthy practices, and advocate for policies that support maternal health.

Outcomes of a premature baby through early intervention & stimulation at Mind Meadow . #preterm babies are born before 37 weeks of pregnancy. They may face health challenges, and care in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) is often necessary. #Developmental follow-up for preterm babies involves monitoring their #physical, #cognitive, and #emotional development. Today’s post was meant to be about the links between the end of life phase and labour. That time, when the transition we are waiting for approaches. When pregnancy begins to end, with birth imminent. Or when terminal illness begins to end, with death imminent. The links are there, there is no question. But I am pondering other things today. Like a stop-start birth or death, that post will have to wait. Today is for reflection.I am contemplating a different transition, a moment in time.To continue reading... https://lnkd.in/enY3p3GV
