A Gingerbread Latte should be everyone’s Christmas coffee drink. It’s sweet, it’s festive, and it’s so easy to make this latte in a slow cooker!

Being that it’s almost Thanksgiving, that means it’s time to start preparing for Christmas. Right? It’s time for gingerbread to swoop in and replace pumpkin spice as the flavor of the season. I LOVE gingerbread because it’s the most classic Christmas flavor if you ask me. So it’s time for the Gingerbread Latte!

This Starbucks inspired gingerbread latte recipe is made in a SLOW COOKER, which means it’s super simple to make. You can prepare a big batch to share with your family or party guests, and there’s no complicated mess to deal with. Just one crockpot, a few ingredients, and it’s basically all done for you.

This Slow Cooker Gingerbread Latte recipe is holiday perfection. I mean, nothing screams CHRISTMAS IS HERE like gingerbread. It’s such an easy thing to make but it will add such a festive spirit to any holiday gathering. We all need easy recipes in our life, and we certainly all need caffeine, so let’s kill two birds with one stone.

How to make a Gingerbread Latte

  1. Place all ingredients into a slow cooker, and let it simmer on LOW for 3 hours.
  2. Switch to the warm setting, and let it cook for another 2 hours. Stir occasionally.
  3. Give it a good stir before serving each latte.
  4. Top it with whipped cream and caramel sauce!

If you want to give it an extra fun kick for a festive treat, rim the glass with graham crackers crumbs. Top it with a sweet little gingerbread cookie and you’re truly in business.

In the spirit of almost being in the holiday spirit…let’s cheers to these Slow Cooker Gingerbread Lattes. You heard me…SLOW COOKER LATTE! I’m so happy to be here empowering the laziness, one recipe at a time! I’m all about easy recipes for everything. Sometimes I wonder how the baristas at Starbucks can make these drinks all day…I’m definitely not a barista. But making a latte in a slow cooker? Ya, I can do that. And so can you!

Obviously this isn’t how you want to make your morning coffee, unless you want to wake up 5 hours earlier. But if you want to serve a festive coffee drink to your party guests, this will come in handy. It’s easy to make enough for a whole group of people without any hassle.

What does it taste like?

Basically, it tastes like Christmas! You get all the flavor of a classic gingerbread cookie, but in coffee form. What could be better? You get the perfect balance of ginger, nutmeg, sugar, and coffee. It’s sweet, it’s creamy, and it’s SO delicious!

What’s in a Gingerbread Latte?

This homemade latte recipe is pretty simple. Take all the things you’d use to make a regular latte, add in the flavors of a gingerbread cookie, and you’ve got a gingerbread latte!

  • Coffee
  • Whole Milk
  • Maple Syrup
  • Brown Sugar
  • Ground Ginger
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Cloves
  • Cinnamon Sticks
  • Nutmeg

Plus whipped cream and caramel sauce to top it off.

How long does it keep?

You can keep this slow cooker latte in the Crockpot for a couple of hours, or store it in the fridge for 4 to 5 days and reheat it on the stovetop as needed. It’s perfect to have on hand when you are entertaining during the holidays.

Ingredients

  • 8 cups whole milk
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 3 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • pinch cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground nutmeg
  • 3 1/2 cups strongly brewed coffee or espresso
  • whipped cream graham cracker crumbs, caramel sauce, and gingerbread cookies for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a large slow cooker.

  • Cook on low for 3 hours or until heated through. Monitor to make sure it doesn’t boil.

  • Turn slow cooker to warm setting and cook for another 2 hours, stirring occasionally.

  • Stir again right before serving and taste.

  • Dip rims of cups in caramel sauce and then in graham cracker crumbs to create the look above (optional). Top with fresh whipped cream and caramel syrup if desired. For extra fun, top with gingerbread cookies.
